To celebrate Loughrea's Ciarán Fitzgerald entering the RTE Sport Hall of Fame on Saturday evening (20th December 2025), Galway Bay FM have opened the vault and delved back into the archives to pull out a special interview from April 2020.
The two-time Triple Crown winning captain (1982 and 1985) was the special guest on Monday's 'Over The Line,' during our Legends series that took place during the COVID-19 pandemic.
He chatted on the phone with Galway Bay FM's Gerry Murphy and George McDonagh.

Three tries in the final 20 minutes dressed up the scoreboard in Rodney Parade on Saturday (20th December 2025). However, Connacht still suffered a humiliating defeat to the Dragons, who picked up their first win in this season’s BKT United Rugby Championship.
Sean Jansen’s try salvaged a bonus point for the visitors to Wales, thanks to earlier five-pointers from Sam Gilbert and a Cian Prendergast brace.
