SOCCER: Galway Bay FM's Jonathan Higgins joins Darren Kelly to look ahead to Galway United's men's FAI Cup quarter-final against St. Patrick's Athletic

Galway United will park their Men's Premier Division form this season as they focus on getting back into an FAI Cup semi-final for the first time since 2023 when they travel to St. Patrick's Athletic this Sunday (14th September 2025).

United's last league win was against the Inchicore outfit back in June.  But they have had two victories since over Tolka Rovers and Salthill Devon.  They've beaten St. Pat's twice in Eamonn Deacy Park this season but went down 2-0 on their last trip to Dublin.

Leading up to the game, Galway Bay FM's Jonathan Higgins joined Darren Kelly on 'Over The Line' to look ahead to the game.

Galway Bay Rugby Club host a 'Fun Day' this Saturday (13th September 2025) with activities in St. Mary's College from 10am.

The event lasts for two hours and is open to everyone, especially those interested in mini and underage rugby.  There will be games, food, special guests from Connacht Rugby, and so much more, and all are welcome.

Galway Bay Rugby Club has grown from its formation in 2007 and now has over 400 players, ranging from under-6 to under-18.  And plans are underway for a new home at Kingston Park Community Centre in Knocknacarra.

Galway Bay chairperson Justin Healy joined Galway Bay FM's Darren Kelly on 'Over The Line' to chat about Saturday's Fun Day and their plans for the future.

Racing in Ireland on Saturday (13th September 2025) is in Leopardstown.

Cross channel, there are meetings in Doncaster, Lingfield, Chester, Bath and Musselburgh.

Special Feature - Irish Ice Hockey Team Look To Get back On International Scene

The Irish Ice Hockey Team are currently in Boston, Massachusetts playing four matches as part of a mini tour. 

 

Called the Irish Heritage Series, the team are opening their tour with a match against the Boston Police Hockey Club followed by games against Boston Fire, Mass State Police and Buffalo Police.

 

All matches are taking place in the Bog Ice Arena in Kingston.
