Frantz Pierrot was the Galway United hero as they secured a first victory over Derry City in two years on Friday evening (3rd April 2026) at Eamonn Deacy Park in the SSE Airtricity League Men's Premier Division.
David Hurley struck a 16th minute opener to give the hosts a 1-0 interval lead before James Clarke equalised. But just two minutes after being introduced, Pierrot grabbed the winner moving United up to sixth, just five points outside the top three.

Connacht are through to the European EPCR Challenge Cup quarter-finals for the third consecutive year after running in four tries to beat South Africa's Sharks at Dexcom Stadium on Friday (3rd April 2026).
Chay Mullins went over the whitewash in the first half to leave Connacht just 12-7 down at half-time; before Cathal Forde crossed the line twice in the second period, and Shamus Hurley-Langton added another to maintain his good form.

Connacht's next game is their EPCR European Challenge Cup quarter-final on the weekend of April 12th with details to be confirmed. They'll either travel to Montpellier, or have a home fixture against Perpignan. Those two teams meet in Montpellier on Saturday (4th) at 1.30pm.
