Despite leading by 13 points early in the second half, Galway surrendered their advantage as goals from Daire Cregg and Enda Smith launched a Roscommon comeback in Pearse Stadium on Saturday evening (21st February 2026).
The Tribesmen led 0-19 to 0-6 before the visitors turned the tide and secured their third victory of this year's National Football League. The Tribesmen now sit on three points after four games.

For the first time in their history, St. Cuan's Castleblakeney are All-Ireland camogie champions after they won the Senior C decider in McDonagh Park, Nenagh on Saturday (21st February 2026).
Two early Emma Barrett goals put them in control before Clodagh Jordan added another before half-time. And the north Galway school showed their resilience during the second period to hold off a determined Charleville fightback.

Galway made it three wins from four in the Lidl Ladies National Football League with a five-point victory over Armagh in Duggan Park, Ballinasloe on Saturday (21st February 2026).
Andrea Trill's goal before half-time put the Tribeswomen in front, before two Leanne Coen green flags early in the second period put them in a winning position, even if the Orchard County did stay in contention until the closing stages.

In his first professional tournament on the Alps Tour on Thursday (19th February 2026), Portumna's Sam Murphy held his nerve to hold off the chasing pack and take victory at the Ein Bay Open in Suez, Egypt.
He beat Dublin's Robert Moran by two shots at the finish for a dream debut. The 23-year-old Glenlo Abbey golfer, where he is trained by Gary Madden, finished on 11-under-par to take an early lead on the Order of Merit.
It's the first of three events in Egypt for the former Irish boys champion, who has overcome multiple injuries during his amateur career to earn this chance and take home the first prize of €6,200.
Following a practice session, he took time out to join Galway Bay FM's Darren Kelly on 'Saturday Sport' to chat about the last few days and his plans for the year ahead.

Sam will tee off in his second three-day event, the Red Sea Little Venice Open, on Sunday (22nd) before heading off to Cairo next Friday (27th) for the New Giza Open.

Ireland Senior Men's Basketball international Jordan Blount spoke to Galway Bay FM's Sean Carley ahead of Ireland's EuroBasket 2029 Pre-Qualifiers against Luxembourg and Azerbaijan.
Jordan spoke about the upcoming games, as well as talking about his career to date, including playing college basketball for the University of Illinois in Chicago.
