Galway golf club's Liam Nolan will be among Ireland’s leading amateur golfers when the Irish Men’s Amateur Close Championship tees off at Belfast’s Malone course on Friday (18th August).
The University of Galway student has already won the South American amateur, and Brabazon Trophy this year along with representing his country at the European Championships.
He is a contender to make the Great Britain & Ireland team for September's Walker Cup. Liam chatted to Galway Bay FM's John Morley on Galway Talks.

Connacht's Senior Women produced one of their finest performances ever in beating Leinster in their opening game of the Vodafone Women's Interprovincials on Saturday afternoon at the Sportsground.
Cheered on by nearly one thousand supporters, two tries in the last ten minutes gave them a vital win in the Series and with Munster and Ulster to come, are now in a very strong position to reach the final on the 2nd of September.
Here is the commentary of that historic win (Their first over Leinster since 2016) with William Davies and former Connacht and Ireland scrum-half Mary Healy.

A goal in the 93rd minute from Francely Lomboto gave Galway United a crucial draw at the RSC in the battle of first and second in the Airtricity League First Division.
Galway United remain 16 points clear at the top of the table with just nine games remaining.
United came from behind twice in this game, the first coming after just 22 seconds before Killian Brouder's equaliser only for the visitors to go behind again before Lomboto's goal sent the large travelling support into a frenzy.
