FOOTBALL: Former Galway captain Gary O'Donnell looks ahead to Galway against Westmeath in the All-Ireland SFC with Galway Bay FM's Darren Kelly

Three weeks after beating Kildare, Galway stand 70 minutes away from reaching an All-Ireland senior football quarter-final in Croke Park, as they host Leinster champions Westmeath in Round 2A on Sunday (14th June 2026).

The Tribesmen will be favourites but the Lake County have caused problems in the past, and will be full of confidence having beaten Longford, Meath, Kildare, Dublin and Cavan to reach this stage.  While Galway won thier previous championship meeting in 2024 (1-12 to 0-11), Westmeath's last visit to Salthill saw them leave victors in 2006 (1-8 to 0-10).

SOCCER: Galway United manager Phil Trill with Galway Bay FM's John Mulligan ahead of their All-Island Cup clash with Linfield

For the fourth consecutive year, Galway United get ready for an All-Island Cup quarter-final this Saturday (13th June 2026) when they host Linfield.

United were champions in 2023 and 2024 before relinquishing their crown last  year and they'll be targeting getting back in the final four.  The last time they met the south Belfast team was in 2023 when they claimed a 1-0 away victory.

Leading up to the match, Galway United manager Phil Trill has been chatting to Galway Bay FM's John Mulligan.

Racing in Ireland on Friday (12th June 2026) is in Fairyhouse and Gowran Park.

The €25,000 Irish EBF Auction Series Maiden is the feature in Fairyhouse at 4.27. The €24,000 Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) Handicap is the feature in Gowran Park at 5.23.

Galway Bodybuilder Wins Bronze At Amateur Olympia In Spain

A young bodybuilder from Knocknacarra has returned from Spain where she won bronze at the highly prestigious Amateur Olympia. 

21 year old Taylor Brown won bronze last weekend in Alicante to go with the gold and silver won at Muscle Contest Ireland that was held in Dublin last month.

Taylor has been involved in Bodybuilding for the past two years and she spoke to John Mulligan about her success and her career so far.

Galway United Manager John Caulfield Speaks To Galway Bay FM On Upcoming Dundalk Game At Turners Cross

Yesterday, it was confirmed that Galway United's upcoming Premier Division game with Dundalk will be held at Turners Cross in Cork on Friday evening. 

The game was origionally scheduled for Pearse Stadium as Eamon Deacy Park is undergoing ground works. 

However, this was not possible following the draw for the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Round 2A  which sees Galway take on Westmeath on Sunday afternoon at the same venue. 

The decision to hold the game at Turners Cross has led to angry reactions by supporters from both clubs. 

Galway United Manager John Caulfield spoke to John Mulligan about the decision to hold the game in Cork.
