Following the cancellation of their opening fixture, Galway's senior hurlers finally make their 2026 bow this Sunday (11th January 2026) when they host Offaly in the Walsh Cup semi-final.
The Galway team was announced on Friday evening and features three starters (Darren Morrissey, Gavin Lee and Daithí Burke) from last year's All-Ireland quarter-final defeat to Tipperary. TJ Brennan, Padraic Mannion and John Fleming are among the substitutes.
Galway Bay FM's Sean Walsh joined Darren Kelly on 'Over The Line' to look ahead to the fixture. However, first, they discussed the breaking news that Loughrea's Cullen Killeen was unsuccessful in appealing his one-match suspension for the red card he received last month against Slaughtneil, meaning he is set to miss the All-Ireland senior final against Ballygunner from Waterford.
