Commentary of Galway's victory over Cork in the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Semi-Final on Saturday by Sean Walsh, Niall Canavan and Cyril Farrell.

This Saturday, the 11th of July, Swimmers will be taking to the Open Water at Renville to raise money for the Oranmore Maree Coastal Search Unit and Galway RNLI. 

In it's 8th year, the Atlantic Lifeboat Swim raises much needed funds for these organisations and to date has raised over €60,000. 

This year, the organisers are looking to get as many swimmers as possible to get involved and are also looking for sponsors to help with the costs that come with an event of this size.

Tuam Stars successfully retained their 3Dental Division 1 Football League crown following a 2-12 to 1-14 victory after extra-time against Corofin in Tuam Stadium on Friday (3rd July 2026).

Conor Doherty's early goal gave the men in red the initative and they lead by one poin at half-time but it finished all square at 1-10 to 0-13 when the 60 minutes concluded.  Brian Mannion's goal just before the change of ends in extra-time secured a lead they never relinquished despite Killian Joyce pulling back a Corofin goal with the final attack.

A disastrous first half for Galway United put them out of contention in this SSE Airtricity League Men's Premier Division contest in Richmond Park on Friday (3rd July 2026) as they fell to a second successive defeat in Dublin.

After conceding three goals in total against Shamrock Rovers a week previously, the Tribesmen already dropped the same amount after just 23 minutes, in a game which saw them fail to manage a strike on target.

Galway United's next game is at home against Sligo Rovers on Saturday week (11th July).  Kick-off at Pearse Stadium is 5pm.

Galway City Rapparees will have four players representing the club at the GAA World Games Rounders Exhibition Matches in Waterford on Thursday, 16 July, as some of the best players in the country come together to showcase the sport on the international stage.

The exhibition programme will feature Women’s, Men’s and Mixed matches, with each squad split into two evenly balanced teams on the day to ensure three highly competitive fixtures.

The event forms part of the wider GAA World Games celebrations and gives Rounders one of its biggest promotional opportunities to date, with players from 13 clubs across Ireland taking part.
