The announcement of Micheal Donoghue as the new Galway Senior Hurling manager has been welcomed by Galway star Conor Whelan.
Conor and Rob Finnerty were the special guests at the official opening of two new locations in Galway, located in Knocknacarra and Westside.
Following the opening, they spoke to Ollie Turner.

On Sunday the 8th of September, The Galway City Rapparees Rounders Club will be looking to make a little bit of history at the Dunganny Centre of Excellence in Trim Co Meath.
The team will feature in two All-Ireland Finals on the same day. At 11am, their Ladies team, in their first year of existence, face Emo in the Junior Ladies All-Ireland Final followed by their Mixed Team who will play Inniskeen Grattans in their All-Ireland Final.
Galway City Rapparrees were founded in 2021 by three friends Joe Naughton, Gavin Mulhall and Tomas Kenny who, having been involved with Galway softball, decided it was time to switch things up with rounders.
As of this year, Galway City Rapparrees is one of the fastest-growing clubs in the country, boasting over 40 members and four teams.
Their roster is a global mix, including players from Ireland, United States, Canada, New Zealand, Czechia, India and Poland.
Tomas Kenny is the Chairperson of the club and he spoke to John Mulligan ahead of the Finals.

Golf Societies Getting Together To Raise Money For A Good Cause

Four Golf Societies have got together to raise money for Croí Heart & Stroke Charity on the 7th of September.
The brainchild of Ulick O' Halloran, who many of you might recognise as the welcoming face behind the counter in Blakes Corner Bar, Galway city, the event will take place at at Bearna Golf & Country Club.
All monies raised from the event will be going directly to who'll be there on the day with their Mobile Health Unit running health screenings for all golfers who wish to avail of their services.
The Societies involved are the Golf Societies of Tom Sheridans Bar Knocknacarra Galway, Blakes Bar. the Galway Arms and the Vintners Federation of Ireland, Galway Branch.
Ulick spoke to John Mulligan about the event and how people can take part.

Cyril Farrell is the guest on Hurling Chat this week as Cyril Donnellan, Niall Canavan and Sean Walsh review Round 2 of the Club Championships.
They look at all the results and their implications including Tommie Larkins fine win over St Thomas, Athenry and Ballindereen’s progress to the Senior B semi finals and the big guns getting into position in the Intermediate championship.
The lads also discuss the likelihood of the new Galway Senior manager being named by early next week.

Gort Golf Club will play host to the All-Ireland Quarter Finals of the AIG Women's intermediate Foursomes & Men's Pierce Purcell Shield on Saturday the 31st.
The club are celebrating their centenary this year and they will be welcoming sixteen teams and 160 golfers for the weekend.
Athlone are the Connacht representatives in the Pierce Purcell Shield and will face Letterkenny while Athenry represent Connacht in the Women’s Intermediate Foursomes and take on City of Derry.
The winners go to the Semi-Finals on the weekend of September 13th.
