Six months following their All-Ireland semi-final defeat to Dublin after extra-time, Galway's senior ladies footballers return to action this Sunday (25th January 2026) when they travel to Meath in the opening round of the LIDL National League.
The Tribeswomen were Division 2 champions last year, following their demotion in 2024. They beat the Royals that season but the green and gold are back on form and were All-Ireland finalists last August.
Galway's Charlotte Cooney has retired, while keeper Dearbhla Gower (college commitments) and former captain Ailbhe Davoren (travelling) won't be involved this season.
Leading up to the game, Galway senior manager Daniel Moynihan caught up with Galway Bay FM's Darren Kelly and they first reflected on last year's encounter with Dublin.
